Béziers is one of France’s oldest cities, dating back to pre-Roman times, and La Villa Guy is uniquely located in a one-hectare park right in the city center, a designated historic monument with an Andalusian aesthetic and a Moorish-inspired garden. As for the hotel, it’s as unusual as its setting: just six rooms and suites, Hotelist Club a pair of lounges, a bar, a billiards room and library, a swimming pool, and even a balcony and rotunda with a commanding view of the park.Its proprietors, Les Collectionneurs, are responsible for a number of distinctive, historic boutique-style hotels, and they’ve made great theater of this one. The rooms and suites all mix contemporary boldness with classic romance in varying proportions; there’s not a square inch of this place that is without visual interest. And the visual isn’t the only sense that’s catered to: there’s a spa that, though small, is as lavish as those you’d find in a much larger luxury hotel. Breakfast is served in one of the lovely lounges; for lunch and dinner you’ll be briefed on the best that Béziers has to offer.
