uda Villingili sits on ground once used to raise chickens, a history that gave its name to Chickens, the surf break just offshore that's ranked among the Maldives' best lefts. GX Associates, a Maldivian firm, designed the resort with Singapore's URBNarc handling interiors, working local textiles and natural materials into villas that stretch across a main island and three connected satellite islands. At its center is a 150-meter pool, among the longest in the country, lined with cabanas and a separate children's pool. The resort was originally planned to open under GHM's Chedi brand before launching independently instead.
