It’s set on the island’s north coast, on the fringes of the town of Grand Baie, close enough for easy access but remote enough to feel like a proper getaway.Meanwhile the interiors of the rooms, suites and villas are handsome and perhaps surprisingly urbane, thanks to the British designer Kelly Hoppen; no need for tropic kitsch in the accommodations when there’s a powder-soft beach just outside. A handful of swimming pools offer more sedate swimming, while six bars and three restaurants keep guests restored. There’s plenty here for families, including a remarkably well-equipped kids’ club, and there’s also some adults-only fun, as the scene at the rooftop Bisou carries on into the night.
