Tomorrowland’s founder Hiroyuki Sasaki knows clothing, but for this project the brand enlisted Patricia Urquiola, an architect and designer whose hospitality bona fides are unquestioned — and whose work here is inspired and impressive.It’s a high-end experience, to be sure, but one with a point of view; the rooms and suites are spacious and thoughtful in their comforts, and all of them have views of the ocean and of Mt. Fuji in the distance. A pool, a poolside bar and a rooftop terrace are among the common spaces, as are two dining venues: the main restaurant prides itself on local seafood and Hayama beef, while Ashitaba offers an intimate counter-service experience.
