Today, under the direction of the Althoff Collection, it’s been thoroughly reimagined as an urban retreat, oriented around an improbably tranquil central courtyard.From inside it’s easy to forget that Frankfurt’s modern glass towers rise just three bridges to the north. Sachsenhausen's leafy streets put museum-hopping within range, while two restaurants split duties between refined and approachable. The bar takes its spirits seriously, the cigar lounge makes no apologies, and the spa's indoor pool and treatment rooms provide the requisite relaxation.
