That’s what it’s like to check in at the Terrace Rooms and Wine, a boutique guesthouse set just above Ventnor’s historic esplanade. It has just six rooms, each with a handcrafted Hypnos bed and views over the water. One has a fireplace and a charming built-in window seat, another has a clawfoot tub positioned in front of large bay windows. Everyone’s invited to a four-course breakfast and evening wine tastings led by the owner, who also cooks up a communal feast on Friday nights using only products sourced on the island.
