A Parisian architect-art collector couple fell in love with the place — with its elegant stone archways, quiet courtyard, and walled gardens, it’s not hard to see why — and personally oversaw its restoration. The finishing touch was the curation of the hotel’s first-rate art collection, including hand-painted frescoes, antique marble sculptures, and murals by the Italian painter Roberto Ruspoli.
